The Junta de Andalucia has put out to tender the project to improve vehicular access from Malaga's A-7 outer ring road to the twon of Ahuarin de la Torre. The area currently suffers from long tailbacks of traffic exiting the main road, especially suring peak commuter hours.
The improvements will involve two lanes in each direction from the A-7 roundabout to the entrance of the town. The road carries around 25,000 vehicles a day and is widely used to access other areas of the Guadalhorce Valley. The extra lanes should bring an end to the long tailbacks forming on the A-7 carriageway.
The cost of the project is expected to be around 1.3 million euros and should take approximately 6 months to complete.
